So after our second open mic, we decided that our usual 50s and 60s high enerģy music became too lack luster when just accoustic, we had piano, but with no other backing I couldn't play the lead guitar part, and without bass and drums, it missed what made the music. That is the thing about that era, the vocal is just a small part of the songs, the lead guitar counted just as much, the bass following Paul McCartney and Jet Harris of the Shadows also played a massive part almo

Tomorrow we will, hopefully be attending the Heworth Inn open mic, I say hopefully because last time Frankie got a cold so we couldn't do it, but hopefully this time! As a I am not A fan of open mic generally it is with reluctance, but it gives us chance to play our unplugged versions in public and see how they go down. There is also nowhere to hide with these arrangements so it does help make you a better musician, but I still prefer the full sound of Rock'n'Roll.
